New machines for the Šluknov plant.

Thanks to the success of the metaBOX case system.

PLASTON's production plant in Šluknov, Czech Republic, continues to grow: two additional injection moulding machines have recently gone into operation, and an existing one has been replaced by a new one. The investment volume amounts to around 2 million Swiss francs.

The success of the metaBOX case system is what prompted these investments, says CEO Alexander Gapp. PLASTON developed the metaBOX together with Metabo and launched it just over a year ago. "In the meantime we are producing it for Metabo as well as for many new customers," Alexander Gapp continues. "We are in talks with dozens of other manufacturers of original equipment, so-called OEMs, some of which are close to completion." He emphasises the cooperation with Metabo, which made this rapid and major success possible in the first place, and the opportunity to supply other customers beyond Metabo.

With the expansion from 23 to currently 25 injection moulding machines and the general double-digit growth in volume and turnover of the plant in Šluknov, its workforce is also increasing: Today 164 people work there - 37 more than a year ago.

"We have also developed in other respects," adds Maciej Pasiecznik, who manages the plant: "Until a few years ago, we were more or less the extended workbench of the headquarters in Widnau. Meanwhile, we have our own project management and sales team."

Alexander Gapp, for his part, is already thinking ahead: "We are considering a structural expansion of the plant in Šluknov for next year. This would create space for ten more injection moulding machines."
