18.03.2004 - You are in good hands with PLASTON - functional prototypes made from ABS

The critical elements when designing technically-demanding plastic components and systems are the fulfillment of requirements, the observance of development deadlines and cost target attainment. By using modern CAD drawing programs it is possible to depict components in three-dimensions on a computer screen. However, there are more and more prototypes being produced, as just "seeing" as such is not sufficient when evaluating feasibility, function and design. It is only possible to fully grasp a concept when you can physically "grasp" a component in your hands.

For this reason, PLASTON has invested in an FDM prototype machine, 3D Printer Dimension.

FDM stands for Fused Deposition Modeling and functions quite simply. The component to be produced is constituted via software from fine slices and mapped into a system of coordinates. Using a hot jet, an ABS filament is melted and built up layer by layer, with the layers each 0.3 mm thick. The component density and precision are faithful and the component manufacturing process is practically silent and emission-free. Furthermore, there is no process waste and the component can be used immediately. The apparatus can be installed like any standard printer in the engineering office.

Scope of use of the 3D Printer:

- Visual model for sales support
- Visual model in the pre-project phase
- Visual model in the design phase, e.g., handle area, lock area, detail solutions for cases or inserts
- Prototypes in the development phase (can and should be more than one)
- Functional model
- Prototype prior to being released for tooling
- Prototype prior to change implementation

The 3D Printer has been in use since October 2003 and has given supreme satisfaction. Thanks to the fast and uncomplicated manufacture of prototypes, it has already been possible to implement a host of improvements and satisfy customer wishes in optimum fashion.

18.07.2003 - Customer Satisfaction Analysis

Professor Dr. Winfried Anton from the Institut for marketing and communication in Osnabrueck
formulates the importance of the customer satisfaction as follows:

>>customer satisfaction is the key to setting up and strengthening durable business relations...
However, in order to be able to increase the satisfaction of the customers effectively,
suitable methods for the determination of customer's requests and problems are necessary.<<

The Business Unit IPS is aware of the importance of their customers satisfaction. This is the reason for launching a customer satisfaction analysis at the end of the second quarter 2003 again. The successful return ratio of the questionnaires was 85%! This means 77 questionnaires were returned for evaluation. We would like to thank all our customers for participating.

The questions were arranged according to the process steps of an order. This enables us to judge the satisfaction in a structured and transparent way. As a result of the customer satisfaction analysis, we can now improve our products and services much more to meet the demands of our customers.

In general, the customer satisfaction analysis showed, that we have already gained a good result. Finally, more than 90% of our customers values the >>total satisfaction with our enterprise<< from good to excellent.
